01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
About this place
Step inside Dining & bar Tree in Taito Ward's Yanagibashi district, and you are immediately greeted by bright holiday decor, regardless of the calendar month. Whether in the heat of midsummer or the chill of early spring, the dining room keeps a Christmas theme year-round, giving drinks and meals an unexpected festive lift.
At midday, the kitchen turns out filling lunch sets that include salad and soup. The seasonal seafood doria—a baked rice gratin topped with seafood and well-browned melted cheese—is a lunchtime favorite, offering piping-hot richness. Seasonal pastas enriched with cheese and roast beef rice bowls provide equally hearty options, with value-priced soft drinks available to round out the meal.
Evening Tapas and Hearty Mains
Come nightfall, the menu shifts to an à la carte spread ranging from wine-friendly tapas to substantial entrées. Alongside staples such as homemade liver pâté, house pickles, and prosciutto assortments, the crisp-fried arancini rice croquettes are widely ordered. For a full dinner, the kitchen simmers beef stew for 8 hours to develop deep savory richness and tosses pasta like milt and green laver peperoncino.
The space functions just as comfortably as a bar, complete with an open rooftop area offering distant views of the illuminated Tokyo Skytree. Lingering late into the evening is easy over coffee and dolci such as the signature Tree tiramisu or gateau chocolat.
